      Pros

      The employees that work there (or at least used to).

      Cons

      1) Workload is beyond manageable. The department is so understaffed and the work keeps piling up. 2) Pay is not competitive for what you're being asked to do (on call, ERO, EDM, workload, etc.) 3) No incentive to move into management. Not that much more in pay compared to an IC, but additional work and hours away from family 4) The company does not care about your personal time off. They will call you 24/7 even if you're on vacation.

      Fairly good pay, quick promotion

      Cons

      No work-life balance. The more you do, the more you are required to take on. Barriers are put in place to hiring even the minimum management model positions because they know they can just have other people take more responsibility on an "interim" basis, which ends up lasting 6 months or more. Extreme burnout ensues.
