Pros

The pay and benefits are very good compared to other employment opportunities in this area.

Cons

There is no compensation for hours worked beyond 40. It is expected and normal that an employee will work 50 - 60 hours a week without compensation or flex time. Work/Life balance are hollow corporate catch phrases and has no real meaning or due consideration from senior management.

Pros

Experience experience experience. Learn all you can and meet some great people. Management is a very political backstabbing circle of friends. Not recommend getting into management level as it can hurt your career long run, skew the real world and hurt your ethics.

Cons

Location Location Location, Baltimore enough said. Terrble place to live. Sub par city and nast environment to look at. Can be viewed as a jerk as many there think they created the business when in fact they are just part of a large industry and have risen to the top of the game (for now) due to willingness to do anything to meet street expectations ( now that game is over)

Pros

The energy industry is quite dynamic so the company is positioned to offer career growth opportunity. The company also fosters a collegial environment where employee views are valued. Compensation package is considered fairly decent. Benefits are generally good except vacations.

Cons

Long hours due to conservative approach to staffing. Vacation entitlement is not great (3 weeks for the first 15 years). Company has quite a barbell distribution in terms of employee seniority.
