Pros

Good work culture in my department, somewhat interesting parts made.

Cons

Pay is horrible, even for the higher up engineering positions. The company wants you to feel blessed for getting to work for the descendants of the founders while giving little pay even to longtime, loyal employees. I thought it would be a good career move since they took both my college degrees into consideration, but ended up being dead end and felt like a waste of time. Stuck it out trying to climb into more advanced positions but there were rarely openings. Everyone’s last raise was about 10 cents, our department that makes millions of dollars worth of quartz and silver parts each month all half joked about leaving for McDonald’s because they pay more. The parts we made help save lives, and we did not feel appreciated.

Pros

Pay was livable and Benefits were decent.

Cons

Fire department will show up regularly. The place is very dangerous, and no one is paying attention. Management, who change with great frequency, either by being fired, or finding another job, have not been trained on their own jobs. Therefore, the employees under them have not been trained. This place is a complete cluster! Strongly recommend do not work there.

Thank you for expressing your concerns. The situation you describe here happened in 2019 when we were transitioning between two EHS Managers. As part of our commitment to safety, we were working to implement a new alarm system. Our team worked very diligently with the alarm company to understand the system’s triggers and even involved our local fire department to ensure their awareness and understanding. In fact, one of the positives that came out of the experience was establishing a strong relationship with the fire department. Rest assured, the safety of our employees is our most important priority.
