Pros

Social workforce. Efforts to create a sense of community.

Cons

I was offered something verbally if I would take a certain action. Then when I accepted and took action, the thing offered was withdrawn and substituted with something else that had a negative financial outcome for me. It was really too late to reverse things. I do not think well of their financial outlook or their word as a result of this. I do not like being patronized.

Pros

CoorsTek is the last major technical ceramic manufacturer in the U.S. The compnay offers unique capabilities that are difficult to find elsewhere in North America. The Coors family is engaged with CoorsTek, which is wholly contolled through a family trust, and protecting the trust is always job one. The survival of the company or its business units are secondary to the survival of the trust fund.

Cons

Not a good place to work if your last name is not Coors. John Coors stepped down as CEO over a year ago, and today the company has three Coors Family CEOs locked in a battle for supremacy. As results, corp level decisions are not always driven by what is best for the company as a whole. My rating for the CEO applies to the 3-pack that holds the title today. The company lacks vision, and it has demonstrated an almost universal inability to develop new product platforms successfully, and expand into new markets based upon their own efforts. As a result the corp strategy has evolved into "expansion through acqusition," which has resulted in destabilizing levels of debt.
