Pros

The worker bee engineers are an awesome group. If they had a little honorable management guidance this group could accomplish miracles. Some of the best minds I have worked with. Unfortunately management is clueless and self serving. This leads to a general malaise across all groups. Everyone is waiting to get laid off or fired

Cons

Clueless Management that only care of covering their backsides. Decrepit Systems Planning is a joke. Here today and gone tomorrow. Think they spin the bottle to plan projects and timelines.

Pros

A monkey could do it. Easy to advance or coast. Great and horrible all at the same time. It is what you make of it.

Cons

A monkey could do it. Just read the reviews. Don't come here if your motivated, innovative or inspired to contribute. Lots of spinning your wheels and talking but no doing.

I noticed that you listed yourself as a current employee, and as such I take particular interest in your comments that you feel someone who is motivated, innovative, or inspired to contribute would not do well at Copart. On the contrary, Copart has thrived on innovation and on the fact that our employees take an owner's view of things in order to make us a stronger, more competitive marketplace for our buyers and sellers. As a current employee, I would very much welcome the opportunity to talk with you--in person or by phone--to get a better understanding about why you feel there is "lots of spinning your wheels and talking but no doing" as this is most certainly NOT the workplace we want to have for our employees. Please give me a call at your convenience and help me understand your concerns in greater detail so I can see what can be done to improve your workplace. My direct line is 972-391-5185 or you can email me at rory.seidens@copart.com. I sincerely hope you will take me up on the invitation to help us improve. Thanks for your opinion. Pros

I can't really say anything pro about this company outside of the fact that they have a pretty good hold on the marketplace for what they do

Cons

1) horrible CEO 2) horrible CMO 3) runs the corp office like a junk yard 4) continues layoffs - can't seem to get it right 5) has a horrible reputation out in the work marketplace 6) horrible benefits 7) totally inexperienced senior management team 8) treats all employees as dispensable resources 9) ton of nepotism within the upper ranks 10) no bonus outside of VP or higher levels 11) no vacation for entire first year

I was sorry to read that you were unable to find anything "pro" to say about your time with Copart, and after reading your post I wanted to attempt to address a few of the points you raised in hopes of clarifying some facts that may have been omitted. It is true that, as an organization, we have made some difficult decisions over the past few months and that we have realigned our technology team staffing model. I do not, however, believe your post accurately reflects the environment we have at the Corporate office nor within any of our field locations. We do not view our employees as "dispensable resources" but rather as members of the team whose work and talent helps us continue to offer our customers a superior buying and selling experience. As we made the difficult decision to eliminate certain roles from within one of our departments, we made every effort to treat each of the impacted employees with respect and are making every effort to assist them in finding the next opportunity for them to showcase their talents. I noticed that you listed yourself as a "former employee" in your post and must conclude that you were one of our employees impacted by this recent layoff. It is understandable that you would not be happy with that outcome; please know that these decisions are not taken lightly nor are they reached without a great deal of consideration. I would like to re-extend our offer of assistance to you and encourage you to contact me by phone (972-391-5185) or email (rory.seidens@copart.com). The benefits offered to employees are not "horrible" as you describe; in fact, they are by many measures market leading. In a time where companies have reduced benefit levels and raised employee contributions in order to manage costs, Copart has actually added benefits and made the conscious decision to keep the cost to their employees low. The company offers a very competitive Benefits program for our employees, providing high levels of coverage for very low premiums compared to the market. We also continue to offer our employees several programs to save and invest for their future--Matching 401k, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Tuition Reimbursement, College scholarships for our employee's children, and much more. I hope that this helps put a few things into perspective and wish you luck and much prosperity in your future endeavors. Rory Seidens Vice President, Human Resources
