Pros

I like my work due to my coworkers. There is a team atmosphere and the pay is good. Also like the location.

Cons

They would rather over work their current staff than hire in additional employees. Time off is difficult due to staffing and one person out creates a lot more work for the coworkers. Management doesn't really care and prefers quantity over quality.

Upon reading your feedback I have asked our Regional HR Manager in your area to look into your concerns. While there are times in our business where employees may be asked to work extended hours to cover workload, Copart staffs its yards based on volume and strives to balance the number of employees with the demands of the business without overstaffing (which would likely result in layoffs as business leveled out) or significantly understaffing (leading to potential burnout as workload surged for extended periods of time). If you feel you are being treated in an unprofessional manner I would also encourage you to reach out to your GM or Regional HR Manager for assistance. Rory Seidens VP, Human Resources

Pros

Fast paced work enviroment. Always work to do. Always seem to be hiring (This can be bad also). Vey involved support staff. Good pay and benefits.

Cons

The cons are going to be long but I want you to know the whole story about Copart and what to expect. First off most of the reviews on this site about Copart are fake. You can tell because they tend to be short. Copart HR has actually reached out to employees to write favorable reviews to boost their level on sites like Glassdoor and indeed. The Yard and CSR positions have over a 70% turn around. The reason for this is they are high stressed positions that dont pay great and work long hours its hard to balance personal and work life at Copart. So when reading reviews keep in mind that a good amount of these are in fact fake. When you interview you will take lots of assesments designed by HR. HR is there for their employees so they say. But in fact I have been involved in conversations with HR where they could care less about the employee and its easier to replace then work with the employee. Yards are constantly short staffed and you are expected to make it up. Most yards are barely staffed enough to handle day to day business let alone when someone is on vacation, sick, or some kind of issue causes someone to miss work watch out because they will work you. The CSR position will subject you to a contstant barage of yelling customers and ridicule by upper management. Current staffing levels were 7 to 1. Meaning 7 cars to every employee on a daily basis. The problem is the forcast for the 2015 fiscal year was zero growth so I know personally that the staffing levels are changing to 8 to 1 and even 9 to 1 in some areas. This is going to place even more stress on the people that work there. Also you will get vacation time but will be lucky to take it off in week long stretches. Maybe a day or two here and there. I was part of a conversation where the Regional Manager actually stated that he would not approve week long vacations for employees if he were the GM and that only few day stretches should be approved. As a GM you are subject to constant ridicule from your RM and will often have to go to an already overworked staff and ask for more. Also as a GM 65 hour plus work weeks are common and its even more difficult to take time off. Also internal goals for the company are tight. Often you will be asked to bend company rules on the part of the GM to get some of the pressure off an example of this is same day pick up in dispatch. Company wide these numbers are exagerated to make copart look good to the insurance carriers. People here buy junk cars and often are out to hustle Copart out of any money they can so a customer will throw you under the bus in a minute if they benefit from it. GMs want to keep their NPS scores up and will do anything even lie to the employees and customers to do so. If you need a job and a steady check Copart is great. If you like constant pressure and being over worked its even better. But all in all stay away from this company as there are far better places to work out there. This company pretends to care about its employees but in the end its easier to replace them. Dont get me going on call center turn around!
