Pros

This is a fantastic company all in all. Upper management is among the best I have ever experienced at a company.

Cons

The open door policy tends to disappear if you are having an issue with an employee who is friends with the Supervisor. No matter how many times you take your issues to Management, the "yes, you are not the only one who thinks so, we know this is an issue, we are working on it" line gets old after months and months of nothing being done.

Pros

It offers you some down time

Cons

I worked at Copart for less than 1 month. I applied for the loader position, but the HR rep started me as a receiver. I worked at the Big Lake location. The loader/supervisor at this location is not a character I would ever work with again. They had me ride on the side of the loader (almost sure if that is a safety concern) and sideswiped and damaged a car without reporting it. They said to me " I didn't see that." Since I was new to the company I didn't report it. My HR rep explained to me when I was hired that any car that gets damaged by the loader is considered an accident and a police report is required. I was also "talked to" about other things, yet I just don't think the supervisor liked me because they were just lazy. He would let people drive in the back to rummage through the lot without having them check in and didn't give them the proper flair flannel. The place was a complete dump when I started. There was feces in the satellite office and I had to request an additional first aid box because there was feces inside of it! The place isn't even secure. The security fence doesn't work, the internet doesn't work and the doors to the satellite offices don't even lock! When it rains it leaks inside and the carpet is soaked. Ever hear about mold!??! Final takeaway, nobody knows what's going on! As soon as I was hired my HR rep took a different position. I know the job should be an easy no brainer, but the yard supervisor is a bully and and a sour character to work with. If he doesn't like you, he will out you. To many moving parts in this company and the pay is so little that it's not worth staying.
