Pros

Being a correctional officer gives one an up-close view of the American Criminal and Immigration Justice System from a day-to-day perspective. Plus, one can reach for other positions, climb the corporate ladder is always encouraged within.

Cons

Managing people who are either fighting their criminal case (or not) is no easy task. Thus, this type of working environment is not for everyone.
