Pros

Some of the people are really great.

Cons

Pay, Hours, , Upper Management, Love to waste money. Does not listen to employees. Some departments are under staffed and over worked. No one can make decisions.

Pros

I enjoy working with my peers. There is much less "corporate politics" here than many companies I've worked for and when there are problems the discussions focus on how to fix and move on vs. where to assign blame. The work is challenging and the management team meets often throughout the year on how to make our employees more valuable through training, new experiences, etc. The pay is competitive and performance is rewarded. The executive team is one of the best I've worked for with high longevity in positions as well as strong ethics and a roll up the sleeves mentality. This is an organizational culture of everyone working toward our common goals.

Cons

Working in the Correctional Industry can be challenging and there are lots of outside regulations we must be aware of. That adds to the challenge and keeps the day to day from being boring though. Since retention rates are really high, especially at the supervisor/manager levels and above, you sometimes need to be creative on ways to get promoted, but the company is constantly looking for high performers and ways to retain and promote them.

Pros

I have almost 4 weeks paid vacation and I can make my own schedule 3 days a week.

Cons

Management is clueless, the hiring process takes forever, the quality of employees that have been hired since the takeover are a determent to our team at our facility, our work loads continue to increase, no yearly raise or bonus, no way to advance in the company as a case manager, promises made to our agency were broken, there is a huge division between staff, thoughtful suggestions to improve moral or the job is dismissed, administration is rarely available and communication is almost non-existent.
