Pros

Only thing that makes it worth working with Core Civic is the employees.

Cons

No leadership, honesty and respect for employees. Training is not good at all. Specially for someone that has never been in a facility or detention center environment or position. Clicks are thick there. If your not in the favor group, then you are out. If you make the manager look like they are not doing their job, then you are watched until they get something on you and then your walked out of the building. Seen this done to several people.

Pros

The pay and benefits. San Diego pay that is.

Cons

Staff shortage, mandatory OT, lack of compassion from upper management, lack of HR support, no leadership, everyone walks on egg shells, upper management tries to find ways to fire officers. Promote younger officers. No raises for the skills and knowledge a veteran officer demonstrates on a daily basis. A new officer will get paid the same. They do the minimum to get by until there is an audit. All of a sudden a post has the right amount of officers on audit day. Basically, no support whatsoever. They care about the shareholder not about the officers....I have more....There is no strategy to keep officers. Most officers use them as a stepping stone to go elsewhere. They care more about the inmate or detainee. Upper Mgmt lacks qualifications or education.

Thank you for your feedback and your years of service. Your comments are heard and I am sorry to see that you have left the company. The cost of turnover is certainly of concern to the shareholders of the company as we are publicly traded, but more immediately by leadership as turnover represents a loss of skills and competency.

Pros

Had an awesome treatment manager who did everything she could to support us but she had absolutely no support from the Denver directors. She worked crazy long hours and still got no help from her management.

Cons

I left because there were cases managers who were cancer and the Denver directors refused to fire them. I had to leave it was caustic
