Pros

Good work-life balance. Polite culture. Based in a quaint little community that can be charming if that's your speed. Good opportunities to work on technically challenging projects.

Cons

Way too political. Promotion and salary increase is based purely on seniority and how many years you have with the company. Unless you invent the next class manufacturing process that revolutionizes the field, you can expect to be put on the same promotion track as virtually everyone else.

Pros

Corning has been around for over 170 years and good reason. Leadership is sharp and people stick around. The company has high expectations for performance and isn't afraid to modify their approach to ensure future success.

Cons

Long hours and politics like any other big company. Also, Wall Street doesn't seem to know how to look at the company given the diversity of products and markets they participate in.
