Pros

Great pay and benefits. Scheduled time off. Good morale and atmosphere. Fun and exciting career, not a job. Made you feel important and that you made a difference.

Cons

Shift schedule and layoffs. Hired temporary and convince you at interview you will become permanent. But they lay you off at 9 month the on a 1 year contract or after 3 months and so on and so forth.

Pros

Especially folks on the floor are like a big family. Very little pressure to exceed expectations. Given the things listed under Cons, management is easily impressed. (If that's your goal.)

Cons

Generally low level of technical knowledge they call capability. Even technology managers have very little technical background. Lots of programs to compensate for deficits are led by book smart folks with limited or no expertise. Pretentious use of acronyms runs rampant.
