I was working in telecom business sector in Hickory, NC. Projects and products they are selling was good, but location of the place is so so, rural area. 1 hr from Charlotte, the biggest city nearby. People are very nice, but little bit old.

Location is rural area. Employees are little bit old. Hard-working culture. hierarchical environment. (top-down)

Pros

Communication is constant from all levels of the organization. Depending on your role, work/life balance can be catered to meet your needs. Recognition and rewards for good performance is a huge plus.

Cons

Locations are typical rural and remote. The industry is consumer driven so when demand is low there is a constant fear of layoffs and RIFs (although the compensation packages are typically very generous).
