Pros

Corning gives you all the tools to be an accomplished professional. This includes training opportunities and networking opportunities. One advantage is Corning is a small town so commuting to work is easy.

Cons

Unfortunately Corning has subsided in recent years and really lost the moral and loyalty of many employees. In many instances, solid scientific professionals are micromanaged by managers who lack any real talent of their own. Additionally, salary is low given the cost of living in New York and health insurance premiums are making it difficult to reside here. I often find diversity is really lacking at Corning including promoting people by sex and race not by qualifications .
