Pros

CI is a very balanced company to work for in both lean and fat times with regard to work-life balance. They are positioned well through market needs and legislative dictate for their existing products, and spends enormous monetary and personnel capital on innovation and growth.

Cons

It is a plus for me, but many of their locations, including the world headquarters and Corning-Valley manufacturing sites, are in more remote locations. So, if a big-city location is your preference, you may not be satisfied. With that said, they invest HEAVILLY in local culture, arts, and education, and are building continuously new infrastructure to improve the local area.

Pros

Great opportunities to engage in shaping the future of the company and contributing to it's success. Team oriented atmosphere allows people to tackle tough problems and get recognized for their talents.

Cons

If you are not a very self driven and focused individual you can flounder at Corning. There is not a strong leadership training process or "leadership factory" you can enter in to that will propell someone into leadership roles. Corning is a very autonomous organization so you have to market your ideas across the organization, which can be time consuming.

Pros

The company continues to spend money on research and developement to insure future success

Cons

As a lowest level worker with many years at the company, I don't think my ideas and experience is utilized to benefit the success of the company as well as it could be and has in the past.
