Pros

There is generally a good work environment among co-workers. The main problem with the company is not the interaction with co-workers. The problem is the poor leadership of the company.

Cons

Company leadership has repeatedly failed to grow revenue with new products. The balance sheet is maintained by continual cost cutting. It has gone beyond the point where cost cutting improves the company efficiency, and has significantly affected morale. Increased health care costs and ending of work from home option are recent examples of reduction of benefits for employees. Data collection and sale is a big part of the company. When the data becomes more easily available to the public or other companies, the company will be in trouble.

Pros

Working from home. Though you never know when you'll have to make a 100 mile drive put of the blue.

Cons

Ineffective management that offers no real guidance. Confusing and ever- changing processes that seem designed to set you up for failure or great levels of stress. Don't be fooled by working from home - you will be expected to throw away your personal life and will be expected to be available at a seconds notice. You are always on-call. It's Friday and you made plans for the weekend? Don't bother because there's always some "emergency" (really just poorly scheduled projects) you will be expected to work at the last minute. Notoriously cheap company too. They do not offer competitive salaries and once you're hired don't expect a decent raise each year. Most years I did not receive one. They keep cutting staff and outsourcing. You're basically expected to know everything with no training, and contacting your coworkers you usually get no response. This is a soul crushing workplace, and the stress never ends. I suggest you avoid at all costs.

Too many changes, layoffs, and hostility

Pros

Benefits are okay and office location is good

Cons

Upper management is dysfunctional and each person is out for themselves. Layoffs continue yet they turn around and bring in highly compensated senior managers - too top heavy. What kind of a message is that sending? Executives will remodel their offices and get paid millions of dollars yet there has been a salary freeze for years. Its impossible to get anything done with all the processes and approvals that are required. No focus on innovation - just on revamping the technology group, which has been going on for years and its getting us nowhere.
