Where to start? For Investigators:
-Overtime is mandatory- be prepared to work most weekends and holidays. Yet be prepared to not get a response from some managers on a holiday who scheduled you.
-Work gets slow in states that have snow. Like at times 8 hours or LESS. Yet in the summer you'll be expected to work 40+ hours because you're 'full time'.
-NOT much room for advancement.
-You RUIN your vehicle. I put over 50k+ in miles in ONE year. Vehicle allotment is also prorated. You'll almost never see the MAX.
- LONG hours at times 3+ hours of driving to a jobsite. One '8 hour' day can turn into 14+ hours
-The focus is on the client. Basically, they don't care if you hand in garbage your dog typed up as long as it's in on-time.
-WAY overworked. Say goodbye to your summer!
-Case Managers need to be informed that you need a day off. Really? I have to tell you how to do YOUR job?
-Pay is decent however, its prorated as well. No, I'm NOT kidding your hourly can and will be decreased depending on certain factors. They call it 'billing efficiency'
-Part-time people get choices of which cases they want.
-Since the merger health care for a family was over $1,000. Over 500 for you and a spouse I believe
-Compensation for report writing and updates is garbage.
-If you've never done this before the training is a joke.
-Youre forced to used your vacation before a certain month. However, they decline a lot of vacation during holidays and the last month (or two) of the fiscal year.
- You don't get paid for any drive time under an hour. And if it's more than an hour you get paid min. wage. Do the math. Work 8 hours drive 4 you're better off getting a local job for $14-18 bucks an hour VS what they pay and damage your vehicle.
Glad I got out,
Good luck.
