Pros

Team environment, flexibility with PTO. Multiple products to sell.

Cons

Some Directors should not be people leaders. It doesn’t matter what you know, it matters who you know. Attach yourself to the right person and you are good. Attach yourself to the wrong person and you are stuck.

Pros

usually you'll have steady hours.

Cons

If you are a certified butt kisser, you'll go far. Take on special projects for managerial types that don't pay out side of work hours. Bring managers lunch. Always volunteer to do dumb things for managers that has nothing to do with your job. Do these things and you'll be just fine.

Pros

Decent work/life balance. Good healthcare benefits. "Unlimited" time off. Great place to work if you want to be a mindless corporate drone

Cons

No training. They won't teach you anything and expect you to just figure it out. Will put you on call for site support without telling you how any of it works. Top-down, command-and-control management style. ICs are given no ownership or input over their work, they are expected to take orders and ask no questions. Any attempts to address technical debt or make improvements not specifically requested by the business are dead on arrival. Tons of time is wasted waiting for upper management to make decisions that the teams themselves should be empowered to make. Pay is far below market rates and pay raises are minimal (<2%). Time off isn't actually unlimited. Management will complain when you take off and remind you not to take too much time too early in the year. They treat employees like tools, not people. They constantly shift people between teams with little or no warning and no regard for the employee's skills or career goals.
