Pros

Excellent benefits package, including 401K, pension possibilites, medical/dental/long & short term disability, life insurance, and of course their full package of Television, Internet, Phone and home security at a small fraction of retail cost.

Cons

Cox Business has a less than colaborative inter-office culture with Cox outside account representaives most ardent competition their own Cox inside representatives in a dog-eat-dog mentality. Cox Business VP's look past the employee bickering and skirmishes as healthy competition while the yearly salesperson turn-over exceeds most any other industry salesperson turnover. Salepeople find themselves fired, quitting, or manuvering elsewhere within the company to survive. The Cox Business department is a 'CULT' with employees fearing reprisal telling you straight to your face how wonderful it is to work at Cox Business but cornered alone would tell a different, unhappy story regarding most of the employees within this group. In todays economic downturn, the ‘CULT’ mentality lives at a protected level, employees anxiety up, with very few options to find other jobs and many taking medical (mental) leave, searching job boards constantly, desperate to get out, but at the same time fearing losing their Cox income & benefits while enduring their position. Like a cult, the Cox Business perception is drummed into everyone, making it difficult to trust any other employee; hence no real cultural change to pursue.

Pros

Very good benefits, including retirement, 401(k), and employee "courtesy" services.

Cons

Senior leadership is dishonest with employees. Consolidations/mergers are denied, denied, denied...until the emails go out announcing them. The distrustful, fearful environment causes employees to be distrustful of each other...so they stab each other in the back out of fear that someone may be doing it to them.

Pros

Free Cable and other benefits. Great employees to work with. Very nice atmosphere. Many hours of paid time off as years go by.

Cons

In the call center where I work there are what are called shift bids right around every 6 months based on performance, You are ranked and have to hope you get a shift that fits your life, which the call center is open 8-8 Monday-Saturday, so there are many possibilities.
