      Cox Communications was one of the best jobs I have ever had.

      Pros

      This company cares about its customers and their employees. They live up to their promise of delivering the best overall experience to their customers and they are fair.

      Cons

      Strict monthly goals. Attainable, but sometimes at the risk of customer service. An example would be that you have to hit on certain criteria during the call to meet your goal, but at the same time forgetting you are there for the customer. I don't believe focusing on goals while on a call is as important as focusing on what the customer is saying.

      Cons

      Sometimes there can be what I consider as unfair hiring practices. Position set asides and departmental favoritism. In addition, Cox has adopted a mediocre merit pay for performance structure that is a result of unclear performance evaluations and metrics standards. There are many organizational restructurings and consolidations in order to meet the demands of a struggling economy within today business market.
