Pros

Cox is a great company to work for and the folks in Atlanta are great to work with. Each system has the good and the bad and most of my experiences at NOVA were great. But be aware of the clicks within upper management.

Cons

The lack of vision from upper management when dealing with Verizon FIOS has crippled the system. The inability to be proactive when fighting the battle with FIOS has really hurt the entire system . Also if you are not part of the "all girl network" moving up the ranks is very difficult it is not about performance it is about who you buddy up with. The rules don't apply the same to every employee, their is leadership at the director level or higher that have only a high school education and no college yet if you or I applied for the job a college degree is required. Senior leadership seem more like cheerleaders than business executives. Several good business minds have been forced out because they did not cozy up to the right people.

Pros

Cox had great benefits. I felt, along with many of my co-workers, that with hard work I would one day be able to retire from the company I put so much into.

Cons

While Cox offers a benefit package that is a real plus, there are many employees who do not feel secure in their job, thus, moral is very low and there is less pride than there once was. Employees do not feel valued.

Pros

Very good opportunity to advance and continue to develop job related skills. Benefits package is top notch. Flexible shifts and competitive pay scale.

Cons

Decisions from upper management come down hard with little thought to how things will work as a complete picture and no thought is given to the effect that has on personal performance. Score cards that are effected by uncontrollable circumstances are rarely corrected.
