Pros

Good benefits package and 401K.

Cons

IT Security leadership has no clue about managing people. They have leaders with a Coca- Cola mentality in running IT Security. IT Security is very siloed and no one can clearly get things done because IT Security Program is managed by Big 4 Consulting firms instead of investing in the people.

Pros

Benefits. Love the free cable

Cons

Unfortunately, over the last several years cox has become a company that turns a blind eye on integrity issues. Sales reps are praised to find any way to make their numbers. Both employees and customers are hurt by these practices. High performers are generally the ones that cheat. Their managers are encouraged to keep their numbers regardless.

Pros

Great healthcare, PTO, DISCOUNT CABLE **not free**..Thanksgiving & Christmas off & SUNDAYS off (that may change)

Cons

Metrics are ridiculous, they are always squeezing more and paying less. They set goals way too high. Currently attrition rate is almost 100%. This time last year over 200 sales reps now only 107. Good, talented sales people are fired for metrics that will be removed next month. Don't worry, they put another ridiculous metric in its place. Now, we have to sell home security & if a certain number isn't installed...you will be fired. You cannot get more than 2 reds in a 4 month period...regardless of how well you are doing in the other metrics...you will be fired. You are considered a senior employee if you last 1yr. If someone is gone more than 3 days...its assumed they were fired. They would rather hire & train new people than work with current ones that know the system & product. Managers are worried about competing with our call centers in other markets to "win more work" hidden meaning in case of a call center getting the axe..it wont be us. Successful reps use the churn & burn method because that is the only way to really make money you were promised. Management is mostly men...out of 14 supervisors..4 are women. Morale is low..you get 1 red..everyone makes sure resume is updated. Everyone talks about .."If I get fired...." Or "I am the only one left out of my training class of 30". Call center is located in the hood with no facilities to work out...very little food choices for lunch..you take a stroll on your break at your own risk. At night, its not unusual to hear a random gunshot from the parking lot. Great company..as long as you aren't in residential sales or retention.
