Pros

Benefits are good. Free cable.

Cons

While in an entry level position you're treated amazing. As you move up through the company you obviously get more responsibility, but you're also appreciated less. Pay is moderate to low. Management specifically in the call center is contradictory. She is a poor communicator, two faced, and holds a grudge forever.

Pros

Excellent employee discounts on Cox Products. A lot of PTO that keeps increasing with years of service. Average benefits package, but also offers pension. Lots of career paths and locations nationwide. Like anywhere else....lots of career avenues if you have a degree.

Cons

Corrupt morally bankrupt managers, directors, VP's, that are very overpaid locally and at corporate. Typical large company. Pardon my phrasing....To many overpaid over inflated ego Chiefs and not enough Indians. There is always budget for manager travel, expense accounts, travel, wining & dining of clients and big wigs but never budget to hire more entry level help or give them much served bonuses and raises. Sales is all that matters. At any cost. Mislead customers, forged customer signed contracts, etc. everyone looks the other way as long as sales goals are met and exceeded. Don't help customers. Just sell or you'll be replaced with people who will sell. Cliques and promotions of the in crowd locally. Inappropriate interoffice relations with managers and entry level employees. Including married affairs. Afterwork parties and drinks on the Cox Corporate card. Talented and dedicated employees with years of service don't matter. If you're cool and drink and don't have morals and don't mind doing whatever it takes to sell, sell, sell you may last. Going to HR just risks your job and gets you out the door. Bad behavior still prevails and sales gets promotions. Not hard work and customer service. If you fixed the customers problem you should have done it faster and also should have sold them more of the things they are mad aren't working! Don't care how, just do it or we will bring in younger eager folks who can!!!!

Pros

Though the pay was decent, raises were minimal at best.

Cons

Management is unqualified, bias and works on the "good-ol' boy' system playing favorites to one employee over the other. What is "company policy" to one employee may not be for another. My supervisor told me at our first one-on-one meeting that she "hated men". I find this an issue but HR didn't. Though you have plenty of paid time off accumulated, try and take it, management will deny your time off request. HR is a joke. I had a serious issue with my supervisor blocking a promotion even though it was approved by HR and was told by the manager of the department that they wanted me working for them. When I went to HR to file a complaint I was told they couldn't do anything about it, that managers have a right to not let people leave their team. Advancement is not possible in this company though they lie about this during orientation and hiring.
