Extreme amount of silo'ing is happening and management seems unaware. Lack of collaborative opportunities or autonomy cuts off a lot of potential for organic innovation. Lack of career development or opportunities. Lack of resources for supporting maintenance and productization. Evaporating, non-competitive benefits. No profit sharing but many talks on what we must do to drive bottom line. Stuck on old ideas, tools, processes and sometimes a "not developed here" mentality. Management seems unwilling or unable to listen or care about employee concerns or suggestions past lip-service.

Inconsistent management that tries to run an engineering company like a assembly line. Cray expects employees to give 150%, but never seem to recognize this outside of a worthless "attaboy" now and then. Benefits keep decreasing, while compensation remains static and is below industry standard. The salary of the CEO is about 30-40 times that of the "average" employee. Cray is constantly promising product features that do not exist, and this causes engineering "fire drills" as we scurry around trying to add features. This reveals a very poor understanding of customer requirements/desires on the part of product management.
