Pros

Cons outweigh pros so dramatically there is nothing positive to say. Company needs to be shut down.

Cons

Easily the worst company I have ever worked for. CEO is a man of poor integrity and management team across the board is low-confidence and low-performing. In January 2025, nearly 500 employees were terminated with less than 5 hours notice, with no severance, and all benefits ending within 3 days. Company’s reputation is exceptionally poor within the federal government contracting sector.

Pros

They had interesting roles available at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Most of the recruiters are friendly and helpful.

Cons

I had interviewed a few times with Credence for an institutional Support Contractor at USAID and finally got a position. The first recruiter tried to short change my experience because not all of it was working for the government / not what she considered international development which put me in a much lower salary range - she gave me credit for 4 years of experience even though I've been working since 2006 using many of the skills that I brought to the role that eventually won. Despite this extremely unpleasant experience, I persevered and other recruiters that I spoke with accurately gave credit for all the years I've been working. This should have been a major red flag. Ultimately, even though Credence works to secure staff for an organization that works to improve the quality of lives around the world it does not apply that same ethos to how it treats its employees. It's understandable that every company is out to make a profit, but Credence showed absolute disregard to me and all of my former colleagues. From undercutting how much we can earn despite years of experience to limited "benefits," making me foot the bill from work or travel performed as part of my job responsibilities, no room for career advancement, receiving a cost of living adjustment of far less than the actual rate of cost increases, no work/life balance, and I could go on and on. This company terminated hundreds of employees working for them in order to turn a profit. Employees under the Global Health Training, Advisory, and Support Contract (GHTASC) received no advance notice, no severance pay, and had 3 days to use all forms of health insurance before they were cut off. The lack of empathy is astounding for a company that reaped the benefits of my hard work for years.

Pros

Decent pay, decent benefits, decent paid time off

Cons

If the contract is issued any form of a stop work order, or changes in any way, prepare to be dropped at the snap of a finger. They will not try to shuffle people around, much less provide any support, help, or show any signs of empathy. Don’t even think about trying to negotiate your salary - they’ll ask when your last day will be. They’re ageist, salary is not performance based, but instead preference based. Consider staying on your spouse’s health insurance (if that’s an option). They will give you 3 days notice before your benefits are cutoff. Senior leadership will squash any effort of trying to stand up for people. The company tolerates workplace harrassment and abusive toxic work environments.
