Great company with exciting growth opportunities

Pros

Credit Karma cares about the success of its business, but understands that this depends on the success of its PEOPLE. Opportunities are given based on merit and how you've proven yourself, not popularity. There is still plenty of room to enact real change in the company, and that's exciting.

Cons

More people means things move more slowly. There are additional levels of approval, which sometimes makes getting things prioritized tough. But this is understandable. Moving from a young startup to a viable company means more experienced people are needed.

Pros

Credit Karma is doing a great job at ensuring that with all this growth, the culture shifts in the right direction. Company has excellent leadership on the senior management team. In addition, Credit Karma offers great perks (bootcamps, yoga, meditation, game nights, comedy nights, Giants games, stocked kitchen, COLD BREW!). Credit Karma empowers employees to make a direct impact. You are surrounded by passionate, smart people working on a product focused on a social mission. It's awesome working here!!!

Cons

Nothing major. Company is always trying to improve perks and benefits.

Open Door Policy

Business Outlook

Pros

Credit Karma, Inc. is growing fast, has received a lot of funding, and is hiring very fast. They are located in a great area in the Financial District of San Francisco with easy access from BART. The office is casual, decorated nicely, and the kitchen is stocked enough (you may be disappointed if you have worked at other more generous startups in the area).

Cons

There seems to be a lot of politics and nepotism in the company. It seems as though your ticket to success is based on how well-liked you or your team is with upper management rather than on actual job performance. Credit Karma and most of upper management like to claim that there is an open door policy but it's just not true. The CEO is very standoffish and doesn't know everyone's name as someone claimed in another review (they're hiring like crazy - there's no way he could) and most of upper management seems to have checked-out (cashed-out) with the recent financial success. Hiring and growth is happening too fast.
