Used to be a dream job...

Pros

Working at Crestron exposes you to the latest cutting edge technologies. You get to work with a great team of highly motivated and intelligent individuals. This place challenges you to excel and make a difference in the products.

Cons

Unrealistic development schedules are becoming the norm. Even when these crazy schedules are met, management can't reward employees with competitive raises due to the "bad economy". ~2 years of salary freezes followed by 2 years of prorated/tepid raises. In this same "bad economy", Crestron has undergone explosive new hiring with countless new faces and an overflowing parking lot to boot.

Pros

Being an electronics manufacturer, there is access to new electronics as they become available. Privately held company, so there are no investors that need to be appeased.

Cons

Training on new technology for employees is non existent. You end up learning the 'hard way', usually with a customer on the phone under the gun. The performance metrics in place are completely arbitrary. We haven't gotten raises in over two years. There is no advancement potential unless you work in the main office in New Jersey. The management team is made up of former engineers, not necessarily the people you want making management decisions.

Pros

There are still some very good people working at this company, but those numbers are falling.

Cons

Post covid management is completely lost. The CEO although a very nice person is not qualified for the job and lacks vision and true understanding of some key aspects of sales and business. They have removed the majority of real sales people and replaced them with technical engineers who think that the product will sell itself. The CSO is not an honest person. They have lied to customers and employees to try to protect their image. Outlook from many customers is not good.
