Pros

Great benefits, hard-working employees.

Cons

Culture and values are a direct reflection of the CEO and his executive management team.

Pros

Creston does make a very good product.

Cons

There is no loyalty towards the employees. The overall style is management by bullying. This starts at the top and filters down through the executive directors. Their people skills are horrible. Watch out for them dramatically changing the compensation program to suit their latest whim. The turn over in the sales department is worse than I have ever seen. I think this along should speak volumes. Most of the executive directors and the CEO are clueless about some of the markets they serve and make very amateurish decisions because of this.

Pros

Used to be an innovative, engineering-centric, company.

Cons

Focus is on "getting it out the door" with little or no regard to quality. In-depth requirements and design discussion have devolved into poker planning sessions that trivializes the entire process. Hiring surge is (somewhat) true, but relevant experience and expertise do not matter. Mid-to-upper level positions are populated by personnel that have no experience with the environment or technology. There's a good good deal of nepotism and favoritism (i.e. it's not what you know; it's who you know). Management is top-heavy and there are few resources to do the actual work. Middle management merely rubber stamps the insanity that originates from the top. Everything is a priority and the work needs to be delivered yesterday. Product development is driven by a reactionary rather proactive process, and quality suffers as a result. There is little or no support structure in place, and the onus falls to developer teams to address a variety of issues. Long hours, nights, and weekends, are the norm rather than exception.
