Overall the company is decent, but the production and service departments have a horrible and disrespectful work environment due to management. Work is constantly being outsourced to Mexico, contrary to their made in the USA slogans. Upper management is at best clueless to the situation and needs of their workers. Coworkers are usually good to work with and are for the most part doing their best to put out good products, but are frustrated by inept managers who heavily favor production numbers over quality. The director, managers (especially in the service department) and supervisors are incompetent and suffer a shortfall in intelligence and technical knowledge. They get to their positions by being a good toady. Their decisions are based on how well it serves them individually, not the company’s objectives. They are also untrustworthy despite their seemingly friendly demeanor and have no qualms about lying and turning on you. There is a frustrating inability on their part to identify, hire, and retain talented workers. Requests are usually ignored in the hope that they will be forgotten. Rules are arbitrarily implemented to catch people in a "gotcha" moment so it can be put on your record. Being constantly shuffled around is commonplace and put under the guise of “business needs”. Using too many of your PTO days results in a smaller raise – no joke! Career advancement is extremely difficult on merit alone, unless one can get out of the production and service departments. If you are just looking for any job or want to pad your resume and don’t mind being stepped on or blamed for all problems, then by all means take a position in the production or service departments. They always have openings. But if you want a career or a positive work environment with growth potential and the freedom to be innovative, then avoid these departments like the plague and look in other areas of the company.
