Pros

- Excellent pay and competitive benefits for the work involved - Scheduling can be flexible and easy to work around for - Company is supportive and it does genuinely feel like they want you to advance - If you enjoy working outside like I do, you'll be spending a good deal of your time doing so - I've learned quite a few skills working at this job that have transferred nicely to my life outside of work, almost entirely mechanical and "handyman" related skills

Cons

- Scheduling can be very location dependent. At my first location, I didn't receive a full weekend off for over 4 months, but at my 2nd location, I am guaranteed every other weekend off - There's a fair bit of overly convoluted metrics relating to your location, that for me was very poorly explained at the start - The clientele can be genuinely horrible. I have over 10 years of management and customer service experience, and I have never been disrespected more in my entire time working in customer service. There are a lot of unclear safety related policies, things kept under the hood from customers, and constant incessant sales pitches which causes a LOT of points of contention. They train you to handle these situations, but it doesn't make the guy screaming at you because he can't get his truck washed because he has a ton of rusty metal in his truck bed any easier on the mental. - Despite how it's advertised, this is a SALES job. You have to sell to EVERY customer. They give you a flowchart on how to do it, and customers are so used to it that it immediately takes away any possibility of a personal connection, because you HAVE to check each of their boxes or you can face disciplinary action. You can have a wonderful conversation with a customer, but you still have to shoehorn in a sales pitch, and give a handout flier that's going to get tossed in the trash 5 minutes later. They even had a campaign to pitch a wash upgrade to the monthly members, all of the employees, managers, and customers absolutely hated it. If you can handle monotonous sales where your average customer is going to tune you out because they've heard the same thing every single time they have come in, then you should be fine, but be warned otherwise.
