Pros

Free parking, and that is about it

Cons

Bully management style is encouraged and rewarded. Nice employees are hired then abused. Turnover is high.

Pros

Been through a couple management changes since I started. Each have had different financial paths, enterprise goals, and requirements of staff. They do spend money, they do value IT, and they do respect a healthy work/life balance to some extent. If something is needed here, you'll have it the next day. They have good infrastructure in place and plans to upgrade most of it. Solid E.O.L. polices for old hardware. There's a couple "why the hell is that still a thing" systems, but they're good at upgrading. Pretty standardized on desktop level, big helpdesk, but like all other sides of IT. It's just big enough to provide good support for their current user base. Projects pull people off of X to work on Y and both sides stress. There's also a very talented team of professionals across the entire team. Everyone is extremely knowledgeable and C&F has really built a solid team. Not once have thought poorly of a co-workers ability.

Cons

Like any other I.T. job sometimes you take on more than you can handle and this requires unrealistic work hours and long weekends. They have no problem flying people where ever the help is needed though. IT managers like to push for shorter deadlines sometimes and create stress all to push something up 2 - 4 weeks. The times between projects are smooth sailing. Project work, upgrading, proactive stuff. It's a very up/down work environment but they provide a healthy vacation package to allow you time to recharge, and pretty solid coverage for most teams that you can actually vacation days.

Pros

None.... seriously, they took a great E&S underwriting platform and within 3 year drove away 15 underwriters by inflicting their God awful management style and workplace culture on us.

Cons

Cheap & Frugal. Senior UW and it took them 11 months to approve a laptop to replace my 10 year old laptop that froze up b/c it wasn't built to run the software used by company. They lost 10 to 15 hours of productive after hours work over a $529 laptop. Second year after they bought us, they changed bonus calculation without communicating with underwriters. Result? Bonuses paid later than previous years and we all saw 55% reductions - - Like Chevy Chase getting the Jelly of the Month in Christmas Vacation. Everyone walks on eggs. Like a morgue
