Don't ever share your personal life with your managers there

They appear to be really concerned and involved with you. They make you feel comfortable enough to be candid about your opinions, experiences, struggles etc.

Cons

No matter what good feedback you get from them, they'll pull you into a surprise meeting one day, fire you and scurry off, leaving you faced with a woman on a screen who cites the reason as "performance issues" and provide no proof or data to support the claims. It will be a total ambush.

Pros

People you work with can be very nice, and the Anime is wonderful.

Cons

Culture has been scrubbed and sanitized, layoffs randomly secretly with no explanation make you feel like you are in danger. Air of distrust and everyone out on their own. Angry feeling underlying things that used to not exist, feels as if the goal is to maximize profits at all cost of the original Crunchyroll culture and long term workers.

Direct coworkers, many from Crunchyroll and some Funimation are helpful, hard working, fun. Typical perks (free Crunchyroll account, hybrid work, commuter benefits, lunches, etc)

Cons

Senior leadership doesn't "get it" It's all about saving money, it seems no one at the top really cares about what was delivered to the end user, only that they landed new subscribers. Unclear, opaque priorities No upward mobility Low pay (you can't pay the bills with "i work for a cool company"
