Pros

The number one reason people work here is the other people that work here according to our employee satisfaction survey which is a testament to the company culture. Employees are passionate about their interests outside of work and this has helped foster stronger relationships, whether its during our ski trips, off sites or hanging out after work. Solid benefits and perks

Cons

We went through a bit of an identity crisis when Crunchyroll created its own parent company, Ellation based on the streaming technology developed at Crunchyroll.

Pros

Great pay, benefits, bonus program, atmosphere and very cool culture based on Crunchyroll but expanding into new markets. Amazing office and great location for all commuters. Flexible working hours.

Cons

Typical growing pains of a start-up that is trying to mature. Definitely has it's challenges which creates new opportunities for all. Change is a constant here, one must embrace that.

Pros

Nice office, and good employee perks. Generally good people in the ranks.

Cons

Ellation has a severe lack of shared vision or company direction. The fact that it's well funded only makes it worse, since it's easier to spend more money than build a cohesive strategy. The upper management is out of touch with the rest of the employees, and there's little anybody can agree on. Every group and department are out for themselves.

Ellation is a newly formed Corporate entity and along with this status comes scaling challenges. I wanted to personally respond to this post because it is submitted from a former employee during a transitional point in the companies growth. In the New Year of 2016, came many exciting changes for Ellation. We've honed in on our strategy and have worked hard to offer transparency to our broader team. In addition, we have taken a renewed perspective on how we shape the employee experience and this has been prioritized and is extremely important to us. Communicating the vision will ultimately impact our culture and this has also been an initiative that we are prioritizing. I am excited for progress and am happy that among leadership and within our management teams, everyone shares a common interest of reaching our aggressive goals and working to create career development opportunities for our employees. We have high hopes, great intentions and a growing team of extremely talented people. It is no secret that we have great funding to afford us the opportunity to take higher levels of risk, but we really are aiming to put our people first! The advise to management in this post is appreciated. I think the important takeaway here is that in times of transition, comes uncertainty and as a company is reshaping strategy and clarifying the mission, there is a period of time that uncertainty need to be communicated so that your broader team is part of the changes. This is something we are continually working hard to communicate. I think overall as a company we are headed in a very positive direction!
