Pros

When I first started at Curriculum Associates, they operated with the utmost integrity and stuck to their core values unlike anything I've ever seen or heard of before. Their products and research that goes into creating the curriculum are unmatched by anyone else. Everyone that was hired there had incredible work ethic and truly incredible personalities to match. It was an honor to work at CA, and everyone knew that.

Cons

In the last couple years, the company got much much bigger and lost its "North star," so to speak. The quality of new hires and employee morale went down as lots of bureaucratic red tape went up. Although the products and curriculum are still top notch, I can no longer honestly recommend working for them. I gave it 4 stars for the overall time I spent there, but if you asked about this moment only I would probably say 2 stars.

Pros

The products that CA produces are amazing, and they have a great emphasis on professional development to ensure their products are being used effectively. They continue to grow their portfolio by putting resources into R&D and purchasing other small companies to enhance already great products, like i-Ready and i-Ready Classroom Mathematics. There are some really great people working at the company, and there are opportunities to grow in the company. There is a tremendous amount of support throughout, and in almost every field you'll feel supported.

Cons

There is a lot of uncertainty in the company right now. We just lost 4% of employees due to a blunder by the company in one region, which negatively affected bonuses for the entire company. But like everytime there is an issue in our company, upper leadership (especially the CEO) overshares information but really makes no positive action. We seem to be growing as a company, but leadership is putting a focus on some unusual items (like a reading program that no one seems to want or need). In addition, many important members of the PD and PSM teams have moved to sales, which is peculiar. It appears that CA has determined that the only employees at the company who should be compensated at high levels are sales and upper leadership, so don't expect your leaders to last very long because they'll end up in sales at some point. When I joined CA things seemed to be moving at a good pace and a company culture was great, now this are uncertain and we're becoming just another corporate publishing company like HMH or Pearson, which is the opposite way we should be going.

Pros

Work from home, life balance, and provided technology like laptop and monitor.

Cons

Lots to list. 1. Company changes that affected employment. 2. Upper management is a mess. 3. Understaffed and expect to do “magic” 4. Everyone is lost and expect to go above and beyond with no direction. 5. Benefits aren’t great. Too many issues. 6. Some managers play favoritism 7. Lots of micromanaging 8. Discrimination towards gender and race. 9. Management don’t listens to your concerns 10. The marketing department sets you up to fail 11. The department also sets you up to compete with each other. 12. The whole company is disorganized. When I got hired they decided to go under some company changes and promised everyone we would not lose our jobs. Here I am a year later with a lost job, writing this review. Be warned.
