Pros

the people i work with are nice enough. Bonus isn't bad as long as you are willing to put in the work. I work in the distribution side of currys in one of their warehouses so I don't have to deal with targets or selling pointless whatever happens plans or dealing with joe public.

Cons

Low basic pay. they will rip you off by giving you a 20 hour contract then have you working 40 hours and give you half your holiday pay because it is based on a 20 hour contract (which is illegal btw) terrible work/life balance (I cannot stress how little this company cares about your free time or family life) at time of writing tomorrow will be my only day off in a period of 10 days. and we have delivery drivers regularly doing 12-14 hr days for no more pay as they are franchise drivers on a daily job and finish rate so if they finish in 10 hours £90 if it takes them 15 £90.. needless to say it is the franchise drivers who get the busy runs where there is no chance of finishing at a decent time. the warehouse i work in is far too small (no doubt to keep cost down) and proper common sense health and safety is next to non existent the system of storage is archaic to say the least the underlying IT system is beyond ancient.

Pros

Training is great and you meet a lot of great people, who unfortunately do not stay there long..

Cons

Those who do stay there long are generally who have learned to cheat their figures or stab others in the back to be "consistently good". I have seen so many great people treated horribly by the managers it is ridiculous. Chief exec has no idea that even the day he released his letter to everyone to ease off hard sales not much has changed in actual stores. People in this company are on much lower pay than many similar type sales colleagues plus not even on commission while expected to drive hard sales despite customers experience (ex. car-phone warehouse, who is now part of the same company : their colleagues are starting off higher and actually get commission). Awful atmosphere in shops because of that.
