Pros

Very nice office with many amenities. Excellent technology and the leader in their space. Good sales training for the Business Development Representative role and excellent camraderie with colleagues

Cons

Pervasive style of management is to create fear and humiliate you in front of your peers thinking that is motivational. High pressure micromanaging environment. Philosophy to the very young new hires is that we have trained you for this job and if you leave you have no shot of being successful outside of here because Cvent is so special. Also, they make you sign a contract that says if you leave within 2 years you have to pay them a couple of thousand dollars back.

Pros

- It's a job, I guess??

Cons

- Terrible micromanagement!! Cvent does not trust its employees to do the basics of their job. Time worked is meticulously tracked, down to the minute. Absolutely no autonomy. - Incompetent management. "Managers" and "Directors" who have never led a team before, but have been with the company, or product, for a while. These individuals do not "lead" but instead dictate. Management only cares about how well their employees make them look. Also, obvious favoritism of managers. - Division of teams and departments. Minimal, if any cross-functional work. You stay working with your team, and your team only. If you need to reach out cross-functionally, you better clear it with your manager first, who will micromanage the entire relationship/project/process. - Coaching. A sore excuse for your peers to micro-manage you and ensure you are doing your work. - Lack of career growth opportunity. Once in a position, you are stuck there for the remainder of your time with Cvent. - Micromanagement. Oh wait, did I already mention this? Good, Cvent is ALL about the micromanagement.
