Pros

Absolutely nothing positive. Leadership in the division I worked in were completely unqualified to perform the roles their titles empowered them with. A rats nest of liars and gossip mongers.

Cons

Leadership is unethical, immoral, and completely self centered on their own personal agendas. Turnover in the division was quicker than chicken sandwiches going out the window of a chick fil a on a Saturday lunch rush.

Cons

Hands down the worst job I’ve ever had. There is no work life balance. It’s work from 7am-10/11pm. You’re on call even when you’re “off”. They push you into these management positions and strive to make your life unbearable. The upper management is an absolute joke, and everyone is on a power trip to get to the top. No one cares about anything or anyone but themselves, in true corporate fashion. Aside from the low salary, and highly negative work environment. The lack of training, lack of professionalism, high drama, and lack of care for the customer (who in all actuality generates the income and pays the salaries) really sets them apart from other companies. It’s a horrible place to be. Unless you want someone jumping down your throat for pre-existing conditions and circumstances beyond your control, don’t do it to yourself. Don’t do it to your family. Stay in sales. Avoid it like the plague that is Management at D.R. Horton.

Pros

- Stable job because of the market right now. - Corporate marketing seems cool - some great friendships and colleagues

Cons

1. Senior management within divisions need a huge revamp. The culture is toxic, people are petty, and tons of people are leaving & getting fired even though we are having record sales. Execs have no idea what is going on with the people who actually keep the company going, and hire out of touch people. 2. The company expects loyalty, but is generally not loyal. You’ll find a few people who have been here for decades, but even then, they get let go. 3. You’re grossly underpaid unless you’re senior level (the disparity is laughable), and they’ve been hiring those positions like mad. 4. Company often assumes a good sales person will be a good marketing manager. So wrong... all the time. The marketing person usually gets blamed. 5. Highly stressful at times. 6. HR is NOT there for you, but for the company. Their code of ethics is a joke. They do not “build people too.” They are there to side with the management and executives. They are firing the wrong people. 7. There’s a lot of politics the longer you’ve been here. Sales is very catty. A lot of management does not invest in others, but only worry about themselves looking good.
