There are some really talented development staff there with some hard working, analytical people. A recruiter could make a fortune placing these folks elsewhere!

Cons

Ruined by cluelessness by the Product Management team and Development leadership. Many projects cancelled after significant development efforts due to lack of (or constantly shifting) requirements or failure to do value/revenue assessments before hand. Dev leaders won't make a decision and stand by it; likes the latest buzzword regardless of reality. PDX office made big deal of moving to new work space, but open environment is noisy and horrible. Had to beg to get blinds to cut sun glint. They promote is as a "coolest place" to work because they have beer once a month... Old school examples: Pay for snacks. Beer is locked down except once a month. 5 year vesting on 401k. Quarterly fees on 401k. 2 different time tracking systems. Arbitration clause in employment agreement.

While it’s good to hear you think so highly of your former colleagues, and were part of the team for so long, it’s hard to hear that you feel senior leadership let you down. It’s important to note that DAT has made significant changes among senior leadership in both Product Management and Product Development since this review was submitted.

Pros

They have that new shiny (incredibly expensive) office.

Cons

Pervasive incompetence, especially in upper management, complete lack of understanding of the necessities of software design, disturbingly susceptible to strongly advocated poor ideas, and toxic infighting .
