Pros

Its a job is all I can say Hard to respect the company when they lie to you constantly

Cons

Dishonesty is the best policy, Promised to revisit our raises for last year and then took them away Promised agents 100 shares of Dish stocks We were supposed to get them in March but that was put on hold and now it looks like that was a lie as well. Dishonesty from corporate causes moral drops all the way down the line.

Pros

None. Would not recommend to anyone.

Cons

Amid the COVID crisis technicians were forced to continue entering customer homes without protective gear. Corporate employees were initially told that we would be able to work from home where we were safe for several months. Then suddenly we were told that we have to be back in the office. Proper distancing is not being properly thought out, at risk employees are being pressured to return and the only reason we are being forced back is so that corporate can begin monitoring hours again with the badge report that tracks our daily movements (the device the company uses to monitor hours and therefore all appraisal scores and pay increases). A truly disgusting company that cares more about monitoring its employee’s hours than the safety and well-being of its employees.

Pros

New hire onboarding is a very good process at the corporate level. Base Camp program in the first month was the highlight of my employment. Pay is decent. Work/life balance is okay. Honestly I am really reaching to find any positives here. I guess if you are interested in trying antidepressants, but don’t really have a good reason, Dish is a great place to justify a prescription.

Cons

Many of the cons like benefits, time off, badge reporting, performance reviews, etc are widely covered in many of the reviews on here, just scroll through and you’ll find plenty of info on these archaic practices. The biggest con is the culture, people are flat out miserable working here. There is a reason the turnover is so high and there are so few tenured employees. Widespread layoffs occur every few years. The “anonymous” employee engagement surveys are a joke, they come out quarterly with a survey link and specifically state to not share your “anonymous” link with anyone else. Management regularly bullies employees into high ratings on this survey. What it comes down to is middle management is very fearful of executive management, which spreads down to the employees. Unrealistic expectations, employees are put to work on projects that have no chance of success due to poor planning and siloed business groups. Unbelievable amount of wasted time due to lack of communication. Many reviews mention all of the “opportunity” this company offers, this just isn’t true for the vast majority. There are certain groups and teams that are promoted and recognized frequently, generally these are fresh out of college employees who are willing to drink the kool aid, those getting to work on high profile projects out of pure luck, or simply favoritism.
