Pros

I cannot think of a single pro

Cons

Did a contract role with Dish and found it to be so intolerable that I quit after 1 day. Not kidding. They had lunch set out for new hires. They were very clear with me that I was NOT to touch the lunch food because I was a contract role They didn't know where to put me on day 1, so they gave me a desk with old coffee cups and old food on it. I was forced to listen to small talk for hours about how Dish was the next big thing (Felt like a fever dream) My manager could not have cared less to have a conversation with me. The language barrier between the people I was supposed to be learning from was so bad that I would ask them to repeat themselves 4 or 5 times each time they said something. Eventually I just gave up and started nodding my head. A dying company with awful culture. Avoid at all costs. The salary they offered me was 45% more than what I was making, and that still wasn't enough to convince me to stay more than 1 day.

It is incredibly concerning to read about the experience you had on your first day with us. We strive to provide a welcoming and professional environment for everyone who joins our team, regardless of their employment status, and it is clear that we missed the mark significantly in your case. From the cleanliness of your workspace to the way you were treated regarding team amenities, this is certainly not the standard of hospitality or culture we aim to uphold. We take your feedback seriously as it highlights critical areas where our onboarding and management support need immediate attention. It is our goal to ensure every individual feels respected and equipped to succeed from the moment they walk through our doors. Given the nature of your concerns regarding your treatment and the environment, we would appreciate the opportunity to learn more about this situation. Please consider reaching out to us at peopleoperations@dish.com so we can address these matters further.

Pros

Waste of time for trying to get employed

Cons

Spent over a year applying here — hundreds of roles. Didn’t matter if I was overqualified, underqualified, or a near-perfect match… the outcome was always the same: instant rejection. At this point, I’m impressed by the efficiency of saying “no” without actually engaging. It really makes you wonder — is this a hiring process, or just a well-designed illusion of one? Because from the outside, it feels like roles are already spoken for before they’re even posted. The job description just seems like a formality while the real requirement is “must already know someone on the inside.” If that’s the case, it would honestly be more transparent (and respectful) to just say: “Applications welcome, but referrals only.” Would save candidates months of time, effort, and false hope. Not sure what’s more frustrating — the constant rejections, or the realization that merit doesn’t even get a seat at the table here.

It is clear that your experience during the application process has been deeply discouraging, and I appreciate you taking the time to share such candid feedback. Navigating a job search can be incredibly taxing, and it is disheartening to hear that you felt your efforts and qualifications were not truly considered. We aim for a hiring process that is both efficient and fair, and hearing that it felt like an "illusion" of opportunity is concerning. Please be assured that we value merit and strive to provide a platform where all candidates are evaluated based on their skills and potential. While we do have a referral program, it is not the sole pathway to joining our team, and we are constantly looking for ways to improve our communication and transparency with applicants.
