Pros

Good office culture. Talented people.

Cons

Leadership made decision to return to office four days a week, which is not what they have always promised flexibility won’t go away.

Pros

Great community of design professionals. Everyone below senior staff is insanely talented and great to be around.

Cons

Low pay, high expectations. Most employees are below the national average salary rage for their years of experience and skill level/title. Work-life balance is only attainable in some sectors, but often expected to work over 50-60 hours a week on average, which makes cultivating a full life outside of work very challenging.

Poor place to be an engineer

Business Outlook

Pros

-Culture is decent -Offices mostly located in central parts of cities -Really nice people

Cons

-Leadership is cutting WFH perks. Erosion of trust. -Engineering juniors will not have a lot of career growth opportunities -Consistent overtime (not paid, of course) -Compensation is minimum 10-20% under competition, you won’t see meaningful raises either -Management is paying too little to recruit senior engineers -You have to pay for parking (really expensive in downtowns) -Very top heavy distribution of experience, not enough people to do the work. -Management is too concerned making their stock prices go up by doing a voluntary layoff than actually reflecting on what employees want.
