Pros

Lots of resources and stability with a large firm like DLR. Opportunities to move up within the company, NCARB licensing facilitation, and good design ideals. Decent but not stellar benefits

Cons

Projects were sometimes assigned to remote offices, so a project team wouldn't be able to regularly visit the construction site or develop a design that properly responded to its context.

No lack of entrepreneurial spirit.

Pros

Entrepreneurial spirit. I am allowed time and resources to explore what interests me. Opportunities for advancement exist to follow those interests as my career advances. It is almost like I have my own firm

Cons

It is difficult at times to balance work-life. Much like other professions, design is a lifestyle and not a job, so I shouldn't be surprised.

Pros

Project diversity, collaboration, entrepreneurial, opportunity for advancement and experience in various offices. Fair pay, great stock rewards and incentive compensation.

Cons

Not every office is like Overland Park. Thus the firm's culture is unique to the local office and it's local leaders.
