Pros

Pay and benefits are good.

Cons

The IT managers know nothing about modern architecture like MVC or OO design patterns, or coding standards or SDLC best practices. They are extremely critical and don't listen to developers' ideas or concerns. One speaks condescendingly and belittles employees, especially females. The other employees there are nice and easy to work with though. The job req was also inaccurate leaving out a critical required area of UI expertise. The req fails to mention they will also expect rotating weekends and 24 hours on call support. They offer no training nor ramp up time because all the previous Java Programmers who understood the latest architecture have left the company.

Pros

Temper controlled environment, you get a t shirt once a year if you’re lucky, if you like to work you’ll get to do 10 peoples jobs

Cons

The Union caters to the lazy so they don’t have to hear them complain, if you have an ounce of self worth and work you’ll get worked into the ground
