Pros

Experience in the health care field

Cons

They don’t care about their employees, they make you work long crazy hours (4:30am-8:00pm), they put all patients before you No matter your situation at all, the nurses are rude, patients are allowed to sexually harass you without a problem, they change your work schedule in the middle of your day and they tell you not to schedule any appointments or anything like that during your workdays or your off days because the company comes first , they underpaid their technicians so horrible that you could make more sitting down at a desk and doing much less, if you get injured they hardly try to help you as far as going to the doctor because they want to protect them selves and they don’t want to pay for your injuries, this workplace is just something that is horrible , I completely regret ever working here

Pros

DaVita has a lot to offer RNs of all experience levels, in truth. They have a really great training program that if you are new to nursing will be like a refresher course in a lot of the basics and for veterans will acquaint them with the specialty quite well. They have a great benefits package, and they really do push for a team-oriented and patient centered approach to providing care. At the right outpatient unit, you can wind up with really flexible days off during the week and weeknd (you can have as many as five days off!), and a lot of managers will work with you to help accommodate schedules for things like school or family related needs. They also great starting rate of pay for RNs, huge benefits package with a lot of options, and they really, REALLY love to find any excuse to give you free food!

Cons

The biggest con is the actual hours of operation. RNs, LPNs, and PCTs are expected to be there at 4:30am and work twelve hour shifts. And if your clinic is short staffed, you may find yourself working 4-5 days in a row doing this, but when adequately staffed, this generally isn't an issue. The other con is that the work itself is generally pretty repetitive, since you will be seeing the same patients day in and day out, with the occasional curve ball thrown your way. If you seeing new faces every day, you may find yourself a little fed up with it quickly. At the same time, if you consistency, then honestly you can't find anything better for it. The flip side is while you take care of the same people, you get to know them very intimately and develop a very strong bond with them. So it boils down to your own preference.
