Pros

Work from home Easy job with no oversight from your manager

Cons

Terrible company and group to work for. There’s been a mass exodus within the department with no end to the bleed in sight. Entire Teams have quit and been replenished with new Recruiters who are starting to pick up on the chaos. Low pay compared to other companies Managers are useless and MIA 100% of the time High req loads that hinder anyone’s ability to do their job well Like being someone’s personal assistant- sign up here. Much of our work has been outsourced to ops and agency.

Pros

- Friendly Coworkers - Pre-Pandemic, there was always free food #Davita15 - PTO Accrual

Cons

- You are overworked - You constantly work out of the scope you are hired for - The managers do not understand how much work there is to be done because they don't do ANYTHING except join meetings ALL DAY and give their 2 cents - Leadership does not take into consideration of your capacity, even if they say they do, they manipulate you to take on more work because it is more "professional experience" and it is seen as the only way to get a promotion or higher pay - Favoritism: it is VERY clear who leadership favorites. Lots of controversial work politics goes into the decision of who get promoted at this company - PAY FREAKING SUCKS. Expect only $0.50-$1.00 when promoted or doing your annual review. - DaVita plans "fun" activities when they can just be paying their employees a LIVEABLE WAGE! - Leadership is not transparent to their team about what's going on within the company - For diversity and inclusion committees, DaVita should hire external professionals to present and educate teammates. However, they choose to put the labor on mostly employees of color to educate the company as well as expect them to do their regular workload on top of this committee without extra pay and time. - High turnover rate because everyone at the office agrees with the following sentiments above

Pros

This is a stable job for a social worker. They pay well and there are a lot of opportunities for growth and salary increase. You can grow within the social work role by becoming a manager, regional manager, etc. You can also grow outside of the social work role if you choose---my region had a social worker as a Clinic Administrator. I had easily accessible support from other social workers in my area, and my manager provided supervision for my clinical licensure. If long-term care is your jam, this is a great gig for you. The majority of patients are the same over time, so you can develop deep relationships. The work is typical--motivational interviewing, depression screenings, biopsychosocial assessments, resource connecting, caregiver/family support, etc. There is a dedicated insurance counselor on staff, so you don't have to dive into complicated insurance counseling.

Cons

There is a HUGE focus on clinic metrics, and they don't take equity into consideration. For example, they hold rural clinics to the same standards as inner-city clinics. They just do not have the same patient population, and if your clinic is not performing to the standards, there are consequences. The organization as a whole has a very cult-like environment if you choose to drink the koolaid. I did not, so it didn't really impact me, just interesting to observe. Although with Kent Thiry no longer as CEO, I can't speak about if that is still present.
