Pros

The benefits are pretty good, easy way to get into the county and move around to other departments. salary is ok too.

Cons

Our pay is mandated by the county commissioners and the county voters. Often times the voters dont realize that what they vote on affects the employees as much as it really does.

Pros

Great pay, even with no experience in this type of position Very good benefits - insurance and retirement The job/work itself is easy in regards to the amount of compensation Virtually unlimited opportunities for overtime

Cons

Coworkers create a very hostile/negative work environment Supervisors in the jails are not supportive, play “favorites,” and act in a very unprofessional manner Mandatory overtime can create a burden when personal matters arise
