      Farmer-owned cooperative

      Pros

      I am fortunate to work for a farmer-owned cooperative. The people I work with and for are authentic and dedicated to what they do. The work is challenging, interesting and enjoyable. My boss is great, and our team is fun.

      Cons

      Small companies like Darigold don't have the same level of resources, which is different than working for a large company. For example, the level of training is not what I've seen elsewhere. That being said, I would choose Darigold over a large, publicly traded company any day!

      Pros

      While there are some areas with few opportunities, the company as a whole, promotes from within and encourages growth and development. The medium size of the company also allows an individual to make a big impact if they put in the time and effort. Currently, there's a lot of positive momentum forward.

      Cons

      The company has a lot of work to do to make its brand relevant after years of making product. The nature of the business makes being low cost a top priority, often at the expense of value-driven decisions.

We also agree that we are very lucky as a company, to have a great population of very tenured employees who bring a lot to the table.       Long Term Employee Review

      Pros

      Good opportunity for career advancement. Challenging and complicated industry with a lot of room for improvement. Overall, Darigold is a good place to work with a better than normal work/life balance. All of Senior Management is relatively new to the company, this is a good thing as the normal way of business is being challenged on a daily basis. I enjoy coming to work everyday at corporate.

      Cons

      The overall culture needs some improvement. While I currently don't have this problem, I believe some employees feel as though they don't have a voice and are sometimes not adequately valued. On the bright side, I believe this has actually gotten better since the new Senior Management team been in place.
