Pros

The compensation is amazing for a first or second job out of college. The commission percentages here are extremely high for a tech sales job and the product is top tier and easy to sell. With that being said, it is a sales job, so you eat what you kill. 95% of the people that I’ve met here are highly intelligent and well educated, which makes the working environment more sophisticated.

Cons

Terrible culture, it’s NOT toxic, but it feels nonexistent at times. Employees are not social with one another which makes remote work a lot more difficult. My “team” doesn’t feel like much of a team, more like an assortment of individuals under one manager. With that being said, this isn’t soul crushing, just something to get used to.

Good stepping stone, Not a career destination

Pros

Great technology. Health care is amazing. Fully paid and top of the line coverage. Given opportunity to learn business and work deals early. If you can have tough skin here for at least 1-2 years, you can find great career opportunities at other companies with great culture that will pay you significantly more.

Cons

A leadership style that does not produce high morale culture. There is no training for leaders. If you are a high performer, you’re made a team lead or Director and are expected to make your team perform like you did. This never works and causes teams to burn out quickly. Most of the employees leaving 6-9months after onboarding are leaving because of inexperienced managers running them into the ground. No transparency, culture is very secretive. Not really an innovative company even though that’s the way they promote themselves. They do things like all the traditional companies “my way or the Highway” Doesn’t seem to be interested in developing their people. Seems unbothered by the fact that 50% of their new hires leave within six months of being hired.

Pros

You get a ton of experience in a bunch of different areas. None of which you are paid for, but it's experience nonetheless.

Cons

zero leadership. zero culture. zero enablement tools. highway robbery commission structure. zero interest in listening to suggestions of reps on anything. Do a little research on Autonomy, the company that was sold to HP. Darktrace's management is copy/pasted from Autonomy (everyone from the top of the org to the VPs), and working at DT is exactly what is I imagine being at Autonomy was like.
