Pros

Great company to transition from military with. They are very military friendly.

Cons

Primary function is to support military OCONUS. Expect to be deployed and that there may not be a CONUS position.

Pros

The best reason for me to work for this establishment at the time was that it was literally within 10-15 minutes of my house. In the greater Atlanta area that is an incentive to work anywhere, as the traffic management "plan" here is literally non-existent.

Cons

I met many different types of people while working at DataPath. Some of them were down on their luck and just sent there by some staffing company. Some of them were great workers, and pleasant to be around. Some (including many of the permanent staff) were completely useless. The business "model" for this company was to bring in a ton of contractors and work them 12 hours a day on government "contracts". They billed the hours in such a way that you had to come in on Saturdays even if it was to sweep the floor (so they could bill the govt. for the hours). When the project was winding down they would say "see you later". If you kissed enough butt OR busted your butt while you were there, you would get called back for another round. We called it the "Defense Contract Merry-Go-Round". They would also play mind games with you regarding permanent positions. They would say (in a meeting) IF you did A,B, and C then you would be considered for a permanent job with the company. In the end, they would permanently hire someone who did NONE of those things BUT was friendly with "The Boss". The majority of us saw this time and time again. It was actually laughable. If anyone asked an intelligent question (one regarding thought) during the bi-weekly meeting that person would get a grimace and a b.s. answer. The meeting was all for show. Many people did several rounds with this employer (out of necessity I'm sure).
