Pros

Opportunity to work deeply across AWS, Azure, and GCP, staying at the bleeding edge of cloud-native technologies and distributed systems. The company invests heavily in high-level networking and team bonding, ranging from generously budgeted quarterly dinners to global events like the annual Staff Engineer conference, which recently brought the senior leadership together in Paris.

Cons

The financial benefits package is underwhelming. The medical benefits are average, and the 401k match is below other industry leaders.

Great Product and People, Hidden Fault Lines

Pros

The product is great, the people you work with are generally great. Benefits and offices are great.

Cons

Many functions have leaders from the startup days and have no experience running an enterprise the size Datadog now is, to the extent of gross incompetence and negligence. This is especially true in most business operations functions: HR, Legal, Travel, Real Estate and Finance. They’re incredibly frustrating to work with.

Pros

Great product. Colleagues are great and great office

Cons

You will get given around 100 accounts for the entire year, and you don’t pick those accounts. It’s complete luck if you do well or not based on the accounts. “Top performers” get lucky and will close a large deal because they happened to get a great account that happens to be evaluating within the time frame of the account. Only 1-2 reps on each team will hit quota. Extremely high turnover and they’ll pip you very fast. There are new reps starting every single week because of the churn and burn. If you think you can get lucky with your accounts, come join! They also make you have early meetings Monday and Friday, along with staying til 5:30 everyday. Overall horrible experience and I’ve been in seat for over a year
